Mittweida University of Applied Sciences is a public corporation and at the same time a state institution. It is headed by the rector. The rectorate of Mittweida University of Applied Sciences is also formed by the vice rectors for study and education, research and marketing, and the chancellor. According to the basic regulations, the university is organized into 6 faculties. In addition, inter-faculty tasks and service tasks in the areas of study and teaching, research and marketing are performed by central institutions. The university performs the self-administration tasks assigned to it by the Higher Education Act on its own responsibility. The respective decision-making committees include members with voting rights from the groups of university teachers, students, academic and non-academic staff, who are elected in free, equal and secret ballots.
